Theatre and Museums in Munster

Munster is one of the great historic cities in Germany, and a large part of its architecture is representative of its past. This is a particularly attractive feature for tourists from other countries, such as the United States, who get to enjoy the city itself as one large museum. Meanwhile, in the middle of the all historic buildings and landmarks, the contemporary culture of Munster is thriving and there are a great number of interesting things to do, great performances and other events that occur there throughout the year.

There are numerous respected and quality museums throughout the city and the area and many of these are incredibly appealing to tourists. The Westphalian State Museum of Art and Cultural History is one of the favorite places for tourists to visit. It contains a large collection of historic cultural relics and art from various periods of time, which also represents the society and culture of that time. The Westphalian Horse Museum, also known as the Hippomaxx is located in the Allwetterzoo and is free to zoo visitors. The War Museum is another significant cultural element that details the circumstances of war beginning with the first World War. There are numerous artifacts of machinery, tanks and weapons included in the exhibits.

The Munster Theatre Co. is another popular performance venue in the city and hosts as well as produces some top shows. The stage includes a removable orchestra pit, which allows for greater diversity of productions. It features some of the top concerts and performances in the city. And after enjoying all of these great museums and theatre performances, many of the hotels Munster guests will enjoy a nice stop at the Three Floyds Brewing Company. Among the great selection of beers and other drinks there is also a nice pub menu to accommodate your hunger.
