Things I Never Planned To Do

Some people have a plan for their lives from the time that they are young. They execute this plan and end up more or less in the jobs and relationships that they wanted. I’ve never really had a plan. However, there are certainly some things that I specifically didn’t plan on that I ended up doing anyway.
Some of the things I never planned to do include:
- Getting a degree that I’m never going to use. My college degree is in Public Agency Service. I don’t know what I was thinking but it wasn’t anywhere in my original plans for college.
- Visiting friends in a Florida drug rehab center. I wouldn’t have put this on my list of things to do in life but when a couple of friends needed Florida drug treatment it was important for me to be there.
- Taking off on a whim to travel the country. You can’t really plan for things like that but it’s something that I did and I’m glad to have had that experience.
I’ll probably never be the kind of person who plans everything out. My life will probably always take a winding path. Nevertheless, there are certain things that I would say I truly didn’t plan at all and those are the things that have made my life interesting even if they didn’t always seem to have a point.
