A Procrastinator and His Nice Save
By Brainey on Dec 12, 2008 in Shopping
Once again this year I’ve proven that my habits are stronger than a desire to actually finish up buying gifts on time. I think starting one’s gift shopping today, the 12th of December, qualifies as getting on task at the last minute, just like I always do.
No matter, I shall have it done in time, with everyone I care about getting some fantastic last minute gifts. I was recently thinking about the classics of bad gifting (sweaters, socks, pets, etc…) and suddenly realized that it’s pretty easy to get something that’s appropriate for anyone, even if there’s not a whole lot of time left to do so. It may not be this year’s hot, must-have item, but I can still convey my caring in various pleasing ways. I know some of the tastes of a few gift recipients, so theirs will be a snap. That’s a bonus, of course, but it’s still rather easy to classify the other people’s likes and dislikes based on age and gender, I’ve always thought. Kids generally like any toy that’s made for their age range, and adults almost always appreciate any gift, even if it does happen to be socks.
After I’m completely spent shopping tomorrow, I just need to make sure to keep the gift receipts, attach extra gift cards to the less-than-stellar presents, and I’m golden like honey for at least one more year!
