Nobody Grows Up Wanting to Be That
By NoBrainer on Apr 19, 2009 in Internet
What did you want to be when you grew up? Did you want to be a doctor, a lawyer, or a fireman? Perhaps you wanted to be Superman. Personally, I preferred He-Man over Superman. Of course, there are a lot of careers that people don’t grow up wanting to enter.
For example, I doubt that anyone ever grew up saying, “I want to be a waste management technician.” Having to deal with other people’s waste or garbage is not exactly an appealing proposition. Also, I doubt that anyone grows up wanting to be a Zamboni driver. Get on the Zamboni, and drive around the ice. Get off the Zamboni, and wait until halftime.
Also, I don’t think anyone ever grew up saying, “I want to work for a search engine optimization company.” Calling businesses and trying to sell them SEO packages for their websites doesn’t exactly sound like fun.
Of course, I never thought I would grow up to be a poker writer either, but that is where I am. I always thought I would want to play poker for a living, but writing about it wasn’t even a thought in my head.
You never know where life may lead or the job you may end up doing
