Machines to Help Me Sleep

Has anyone else heard of this? So obviously CPAP technology has been around for a while—this is the Continuous Positive Air Pressure machine that gets perfectly calibrated to your individual needs during polysomnography (performed by a sleep technician). But now there is a new machine on offer for those who don’t work well with the CPAP machine—the BIPAP machine. Despite some excellent CPAP machines currently available through various providers (including the link provided!), the BIPAP machine is remarkably small, light, and efficient—small enough to carry in a variety of hand-held luggage, which certainly is an advance for travelers. Patients will still need sleep apnea mask to accompany the machine, but greatest advantage it the recording abilities of the BIPAP system—it can read the patient’s sleeping pattern and breathing and seamlessly transfers the information back to the care provider. Considering the breakthroughs in specific, tailored medical provision this could give to a patient, the BIPAP really speaks for itself in terms of exceptional patient care. This demonstrates a new level of advancement in the care of sleep apnea. I, for one, am thoroughly excited to give this machine a try—or at the very least, see it in action!
