I Wish I Could Just Eat When I Wanted To

In California, Weight Loss is a big deal. I grew up in Orange County, California, and I felt tremendous pressure as a teenage girl to constantly lose weight. I did everything I could between 14 and 21 to lose weight, and not much of it was healthy. But with everyone half-naked and going to the beach in bikinis all the time, it was hard to escape body-image issues.
I never really got onto a true Diet program while I was in California. But I finally did land on something that I really liked and that, if only I could return to that, I’m sure that I could go back to a very low weight. What I discovered was that if I could only just sleep very late in the morning and eat a little yogurt or fruit at about 10:30, then I could last just fine until 2:30 or 3. At that point, I could eat a ginormous salad like a chicken salad or a tuna salad and it would last me the rest of the day. Or instead, I could eat a little wheat bread and tuna or chicken, and then have a large bowl of vegetarian soup at 6pm or so. It was great!
Of course in middle age, I’m up at 5, sharp, and although I eat I’m starving by 8:30, 12, 2:30 and 5 o’clock.

Dieting can be tough, but it sounds like you are making a lot of great eating choices. When I began dieting I started working with a nutritionist who helped me see it as a life choice program.
