Divorce on a Budget

Divorce is expensive, and you may not have the money to fight it out in court, especially if you are trying to go to college or get your career started at the same time.
Luckily, divorce doesn’t have to involve a long, bitter court battle. In fact, you can get an affordable divorce in Phoenix just by being willing to work through it yourselves, with the help of mediators, rather than fighting it out in court. The process is called divorce mediation or collaborative divorce, and can save you both tons of money.
Divorce mediation is perfect for people who want to try to keep their expenses down but aren’t on totally amicable terms. If you are on good terms with one another, of course you wouldn’t need the mediator, and could save yourselves even more money by deciding on the terms of the divorce and filing the forms yourself. But very few people are able to do that, so hiring a mediator helps you to still work things out without involving a judge.
If you think you are a candidate for a collaborative divorce, suggest it to your spouse and see whether he or she would prefer to do it yourselves, or hire a mediator. If you decide on the latter, Arizona mediation is easy to find via a phone book or a quicck search online!
